The Potato Eaters
The project is dedicated to archetypes of time based on the mythological context. According to M. Eliade, many ancient myths tell about the initial sacrifice, the murder of a person or god from whose body fruits sprouted (tubers similar in shape to an embryo). The author draws an analogy between the myths telling about the initial sacrifice with the symbolism of Saturn (identified with the ancient Greek god Kronos/Chronos, personifying time) devouring his children. Time, on the one hand, is the cause of life on earth, on the other hand, fixing life, destroys it in an endless cycle.

The project includes 12 canvases (according to the number of months, sacrificial stones on traditional altars and the apostles of Christ) with images resembling sprouting fruits and referring to the images of Chronos in the cultural tradition, which make up a single installation – the sacred space of the cycle of time repeated through sacrifice.
